What can be expected taking part?

The shoot agreement is called time for - this means my time and yours are valued the same - so neither owes the other any payment.

However what you do get is access to all the images taken -  and any video or audio work undertaken.

The idea is you will be able to make up a comprehensive profile from what you have from the day.

The shoot takes place at The Halfling office or surrounding district. This district include an old church ruin which makes an excellent quiet location.

The office is located in an old railway station -complete with branch line and platforms.

The minus point is the building is protected status and space is limited.

However, although act4ward is planned to relocate to larger premises - the station proves to be a popular location and almost all the images you see above were shot there.

The purpose of the day if this is the first visit is to establish the aims of those taking part and build a shoot around them.

The key areas are learn how to use the camera to advantage, how to create different personas and impressions - and to build up personal self confidence.

Normally the first activity is with image stills, and then if time allows video work.

Because self made self tapes are a casting requirement for many we cover these, and how they are different from a normal video style.

Obviously everything undertaken is age set - so the agenda changes according to age and intentions.

There can be a lot of chat as we go -which hopefully is helpful and young ones take regular breaks when they want to.

Because we are looking for a well rounded set of images where possible bring examples of winter and summer clothing - remember holiday casual wear. Sports kit is good to - for those of school age bringing the whole school kit uniform/sports kit can offer a good range. If the participant has hobby activities these can often be good inspiration as we shoot.

Those taking part and in the case of under 18's the parents decide what is and is not included during the day.

The most important thing is not only should the day be productive but fun too!
